The Great Wall of China (Additional option)

One of the most important and beautiful monuments in China is the Great Wall of China. It is located in the northern part of China. It was originally built to protect the northern borders from invaders. It's history has shown to help with China's security and to keep invaders out of China's area.

The Great Wall of China is a very beautiful piece of work and it has a thick and long amount of brick that they put. A cool thing is that you can still see the thin cracks of how old the wall is.

The Great Wall of China winds up and down across deserts, grasslands, mountains, and plateaus that stretches about 8,851.8 kilometers from east to west of China. The Great Wall that people still see today was built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).

The Great Wall of China is a huge part of China's culture. The most well-known legend was the collapse of the wall caused by Meng Jiangnu.

Why Prince Lui Sheng wanted to be buried in a Jade Suit (Culture/Religion)

Lui Sheng talked to the government officials about when he died he wanted to be buried inside the beautiful jade suit because he thought that with something that has such beauty deserves to buried with him. A jade is a beautiful, durable stone which seems to glow when it is highly polished. It's colors range from dark brownish green to very pale, greenish white. It's Chinese name (yu) means "The fairest of stones."

There was a women that was asked about the situation and she replied, "Yes, I was right there to see Lui Sheng saying he wanted to be buried with the jade suit and i think that he also is correct about it being worthy of his excellence.

One of the government officials had a completely different reply, "Prince Lui Sheng didn't actually say that he was going to be buried with the jade suit. He just said that he would consider it unless he could find something that was more beautiful and expensive than the jade suit."

There was a final witness that had been seen of what happened and said, "I know prince Lui Sheng even considered or said that he would even be buried with the jade when he would pass away. All that he was talking about was how that they were going to help the economy of our dynasty."

Even though a lot of different people had their own comments and opinions, nobody ever knew if Lui Sheng was buried in the jade suit or not. And these were the things that Prince Lui Sheng might ave said about his death.

Invention of Paper

The invention of paper was one of the most important inventions in China. Paper was used to write on and send messages to others to help with their trading so it could be easier for them to trade on the Silk Road. Paper really helped them while their dynasty was still alive.

Paper was made during the Han Dynasty. It was developed in other parts of the world because when they had sent messages to other countries for trade, they would use those papers to make some for their own. That was a small part of the downfall of the Han Dynasty because since people from other countries started to use paper for themselves, those countries could have gotten many useful things from their trades like weapons to take over the Han Dynasty.

A person named Cai Lun invented paper. To make paper, first he boiled mulberry bark, hemp rags, and old fish nets together in a large tub of water. He pounded the mixture into a mushy pulp. Then he lowered a screen into the pulp and lifted some out, letting the excess water drain out. he pressed the pulp flat to squeeze out any excess water. After the pulp dried, he had a sheet of paper.

Paper had changed peoples lives in many ways. It had made it easier for people to send messages and letters to other people around the world. Paper is used today for writing books, writing on paper, drawing on paper and much more. Without paper, it would be really hard to communicate with other people and send messages around the world.

My Interview with Emperor Wu Di

Question 1:Why were you using the Great Wall of China as security, and from what were you protecting people?

Answer 1: The nomads have been raiding our part of China for a long time and this outside threat has kept the area from being fully used and developed. I first tried to put up with the Nomads but that obviously didn't work, so I started to rely on guards so they could keep the nomads out. After I had pushed the Nomads past the Gobi Desert, I started to extend the Wall, thought it was not going to be successful for a long term solution. I did provide more security and allowed people to use their time and resources to concentrate on things that could improve their lives. It also encouraged more trade with that area as people felt safer to journey to the area.

Question 2: Why would you always send Zhang Qian to go on with your trade missions?

Answer 2: Oh, that is a very easy question to answer. It's because there is something that I have always liked about Zhang Qian and I knew that he would be a great transporting person for my trading purposes. I was very right about that. That's because he has a history of being successful at this. I previously sent him to the western areas with the products tea, silk, and pottery. With those small objects, he got me some things such as gold, cotton, and glassware into China.

Question 3: What positive things do you think that you brought to the Han Dynasty?

Answer 3: Well I think that i did very well with the economy of the Han Dynasty, using the Silk Road to get many objects and goods in from different trades. I also think that our security worked very well while i was Emperor. The Great Wall of China was a big help keeping out all of the invaders. So those were some positive things that I brought to the Han Dynasty.

Question 4: How do you think you treated people during your Dynasty?

Answer 4: Well I was a very harsh ruler and I did have harsh punishments to the people in the Han Dynasty. I would have done anything to keep my Dynasty in control, even though it might have cost the lives of many people in China.

Question 5: How strict were you about choosing government officials?

Answer 5: I know that I had to be smart about which I had to choose to be government officials because If I made a mistake in my choosing it might have cost me my chance of staying the emperor. So I made a special system in choosing government officials. During that period, talented people emerged in all of their occupations. My system turned out to work very well for the Dynasty.

It also shows all the major cities and capitals like Luoyong, which is the capital of Han, Hong Kong, Beijing, and Shanghai. The Great wall of china is covered on most of the areas on the map. If you didn't know this fact, the Great wall of china is 5,503.3 miles long. The bodies of water that are to the east of china is the Sea of Japan, Bay of Bengal, North china sea, and much more!

Editorial on Confucianists and Qin Dynasty 2nd Draft

During the Han Dynasty, there were a lot of things going on all at once. For example, the war with the Confucianists and the Qin Dynasty. It should have been a longer war and there should have been more killing to make the war more intense. One person always does the killing and does all the work and his name was Gaodi. He had a brave heart and suffered for many of his troops.

Gaodi kept fighting and fighting until it was all over. He kept on changing the rules. All his ideas confused me and made me wonder what he was talking about. All the Confuciansists wanted their payback and they got that.

The setting of this war was in Western Han. It was all land and no buildings. It was almost like you were in the middle of a desert with barely any air around you. At the end of the war, you could see all the dead bodies on the ground with blood surrounding them. After the war, there was a lot of silence that you could almost hear your own echos.

This war was a really important historical event because there was a lot of action from the beginning to the end of the war. Even though there was a lot of things that could have been changed, it was a great war to read and learn about.
